Sweden set the tone early in the game, despite a slow first few minutes some turnovers from the Czech Republic side and some more successful outside shooting from the Swedish side as the minutes of the first quarter came to a close, which meant that they went ahead with an impressive lead of 23-8.
The Czech Republic were able to perform better in the second quarter both on the drive and with their jump shots but their defence was unable to stop the likewise successful shooting of the Swedish team. As well as this, they still committed some costly turnovers, which meant they went into the second half still behind, 43-21.
The third quarter opened with a lot of missed opportunities for the Czech Republic side however Sweden also struggled to sink as many baskets. This was their lowest scoring quarter adding only 16 points to their score whilst the Czech Republic added 11.
The final ten minutes saw the teams bring out more three point shooting and some higher scoring. However the Czech Republic continued to struggle to pass and communicate effectively and it was ultimately these turnovers that helped Sweden secure such a large victory of 80-45.
