The Germany Men’s Team put on a fantastic performance against Great Britain to go 3/3 in Pool A with an 89-55 victory.
With Great Britain’s shots not falling, Germany dominated the scoreboard throughout opening six minutes of play: working their way to a 13-6 advantage. Great Britain, however, found the basket at the back end of the quarter and, with some great teamwork, fought their way back to a one point deficit: Germany ahead by 17-16.
Sensing the threat, Germany piled on the pressure again at the start of the second quarter to take a 35-18 lead. Great Britain continued to battle hard, but by half time the German Men’s Team had secured a 41-26 advantage.
The third quarter was a much closer affair with the GB Men earning 17 points to Germany’s 19; nevertheless, with just 10 minutes left on the clock, Germany were up by 61-43.
The final 10 minutes of the game saw Germany raise their game, putting on strong performances at both ends of the court to go 3/3 with an 89-55 victory.
