In the opening game of Day 4, France overcome a fantastic comeback by the Czech Republic; the French Men's Team battling to a 69-62 win.
It was the Czech Republic who got off to the better start as they worked their way to a 4-0 lead against France courtesy of consecutive baskets from Oodrej Pliska. France, however, then hit back to level the game (4-4). Very little then separated the two teams until the final two minutes of the quarter where France were able to pull ahead by 20-12 before Franstek Sindelar took the final two points of the quarter for the Czech Republic. The score at the end of the first, therefore, 20-14 in favour of France.
The second quarter saw the tense battle continue, but a strong finish to the half by France saw the team enter half time with a 37-28 lead.
The Czech Republic roared into action after half time, closing the French lead down to just two points (43-41) with three minutes left in the quarter. France fought their way back to a four point lead (47-43) but once again the Czech Republic scored the final basket to enter the final 10 minutes of the game by two: 45-47.
With the teams trading points, the final quarter proved to be a nailbiting affair: the Czech Republic completing their comeback as they levelled the game on 60 points apiece with 3:05 left in the game. France, however, then found another level of play to close out a hard-fought 69-62 win.
