In a thrilling encounter, the Germany Men's Team overcome a fantastic comeback by Poland to close out a 78-72 victory.
With very little between the two teams at the start of the game, in the end it was Germany who edged out the early lead (9-4). Poland then quickly hit back to level the match on nine points apiece, the teams trading shots until the final three minutes of the quarter when the Germany Men's Team found a way through their opponents defense to take a 24-16 advantage into the second quarter.
The second quarter saw Poland continue to fight back: outshooting their opponents by 17-16. Nonetheless, it was Germany who remained ahead by 40-33 at half time.
With only seven points in it at the start of the third quarter, the Poland Men's Team rallied together once more: playing their way back into the game as they chased down the German's lead to a single point (43-44) before a fantastic basket from Piotr Uszynski saw Poland take the lead (45-44). The tense battle continued for the remainder of the quarter with Germany just edging out a 51-50 advantage with 10 minutes remaining in the game.
Showing great composure, Germany then continued to build their lead in the final quarter, overcoming an incredibly gritty peformance by Poland to close out a 78-72 victory.
